What is a cold brew coffee?
Cold brew coffee is coffee which has been made with cold water rather than hot. It is made using coarse coffee grounds which are steeped in water, usually overnight and in the fridge.
Left for 12 hours or so, coffee will infuse into cold water just as it does with hot. This slow infusion pulls all the flavour out of the coffee beans but leaves behind some of the more bitter compounds which give hot coffee its 'love it or hate it' flavour profile.
Once brewed, you can strain your cold brew coffee with a tea strainer or in a cafetière to remove the grounds. Then it is ready and waiting to be used in a delicious iced coffee recipe like our Keto Iced Mocha!
If you don't have ground coffee you can also make this recipe using instant, however our personal preference is ground. Just brew as normal and allow to cool then chill.

We love Montezuma's Absolute Black Dark Chocolate, which is made using 100% cocoa. You only need 2 squares for this recipe, which leaves the best part of a bar for you to enjoy later!

What you need (ingredients):
- 1 mug of iced, cold brew or chilled black coffee
- 1 tablespoon Hunter & Gather Collagen Peptides
- 1 tablespoon Hunter & Gather MCT Oil
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder (or feel free to use 2 squares of Montezuma’s Dark Chocolate, grated)
- 1 tablespoon double cream
- Whipped cream for garnish
- Handful of ice
What you do (method):
- To a blender add the coffee, collagen peptides, MCT oil and chocolate or cacao powder (and double cream if using), then blend on high until light and frothy
- Pour over ice and top with whipped cream before serving - enjoy!
