where the flavour comes from

Mayonnaise is one of those everyday staples that earns its place in the fridge. Spread through sandwiches, folded into salads, spooned alongside roasted vegetables or turned into dressings.

When something gets used that often, we think what goes into the jar matters. For our Olive Oil Mayonnaise, it starts with the oil. Making up 80% of every jar, our olive oil comes from olives grown in traditionally planted ancient groves in southern Spain, where generations of olive-growing experience run deep. It brings a smooth, rounded richness that makes this mayonnaise distinctive, while still letting the food around it shine.

The rest is deliberately simple. British free-range egg yolk brings that familiar creamy texture, while apple cider vinegar and pink Himalayan salt round out the flavour. Just five real ingredients in total. The egg yolk is used in its natural liquid form rather than powdered, keeping the recipe recognisable and uncomplicated.

The result is a rich, creamy, seed oil-free mayonnaise made with 100% natural ingredients, with no gluten or refined sugar. A familiar staple, made with ingredients worth paying attention to.

From a problem everyone had but nobody solved

Hunter & Gather began in 2017 with Amy and Jeff and a belief that everyday food could be made better. Amy grew up coeliac, reading every label and cooking from scratch from an early age. Jeff came to real food through his own journey with diet, lifestyle and supplementation. Different beginnings, but the same belief: food should be made from things your body recognises.

Real ingredients, chosen with purpose, without compromising on taste. It started with a jar of mayonnaise. Today, that same thinking goes into everything we make.

How hot is Hot Honey Olive Oil Mayonnaise?

Warm rather than fierce. The sweetness of raw British honey arrives first, followed by a gentle chilli heat that builds slightly but never takes over. It is designed to be moreish rather than a challenge, so it works for the whole table.

Is Hot Honey Olive Oil Mayonnaise suitable for babies?

No. It contains raw British honey, and raw honey is not suitable for babies under one year old. For everyone else it is free from refined sugar, gluten and seed oils, though it does contain naturally occurring sugars from the honey.

How should I store Hot Honey Olive Oil Mayonnaise?

Keep it in the cupboard until you open it, then store it high up in the fridge door rather than at the back. Below around 4°C it can begin to solidify, which is why the coldest parts of the fridge are worth avoiding. Once opened, follow the guidance printed on the jar.

What can I use Hot Honey Olive Oil Mayonnaise with?

Spoon it over burgers and chicken, serve it with roasted vegetables, or bring it to the table as a dip. It is the one that makes sharing food feel a little more special, and it is particularly good with anything crisp, anything roasted, or straight off a barbecue.
