Ranch is a beloved creamy dressing for good reason. Tangy and packed with herbs, it makes everything from raw vegetables to buffalo wings taste better, but most shop-bought versions are loaded with seed oils, thickeners and artificial flavourings.

This homemade ranch brings the fresh herb flavour that made ranch famous. Fresh parsley, dill, and chives, mixed with sour cream, mayonnaise, and a splash of buttermilk, create the classic ranch taste without any questionable ingredients. It takes five minutes to make and tastes like it came from a proper restaurant kitchen.

This ranch gets its creamy base from Hunter & Gather Mayonnaise mixed with sour cream for that signature tang.

What you need (Ingredients):

  • 100 grams sour cream
  • 100 grams Hunter & Gather Mayonnaise
  • 2-3 tbsp buttermilk or coconut milk (buttermilk is traditional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 1 garlic clove, minced finely
  • Juice from half a lemon
  • Large pinch of salt and pepper to taste

What you do (method):

  1. To make this dressing, simply whisk all of the ingredients together in a bowl or shake in a jar with a lid until combined.
  2. Serve over your favourite salad and enjoy!
  3. Store leftovers in the fridge.
