International Women's Day 2024
International Women's Day is an annual celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Amy is our Co-Founder and just one of the amazing women working hard behind the scenes at Hunter & Gather.
We caught up with her for a quick fire interview to help you get to know Amy better with some fun facts about her life and career.
Meet Amy 👏
We sat down with our fabulous female Co-Founder Amy to ask some quick fire questions. Here's what she had to share with us!
What was your first job?
My first “proper” job was technically as a waitress at 16 years old, however I was always working at the stables for free rides and walking a neighbours dog way before this!
What was the first music single you bought?
It must have been the Spice Girls – can you tell I’m a 90’s girl?!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I love when we hear all the amazing feedback from the customers that we have helped with real food. So many lives are impacted by diet and a few simple changes can make huge differences in many everyday lives.
What is the least rewarding part of your job?
The pace. We innovate and launch projects very quickly, being a thought leader in the food space. You need to constantly innovate, grow and develop to keep ahead of the curve and this can be tricky.
What is your motto in life?
What will be will be, sometimes you can’t control for every eventuality.
If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be?
It would be a toss-up between dogs in the office and flexi start times – but we offer both already!
If you could change one thing in the food industry, what would it be?
The desire of some companies to put profit before the health of the nation.
What luxury would you have on a desert island?
I should say something useful like a knife or a firelighter, but a nice comfy bed with a waterproof mosquito net canopy would provide shelter & warmth - and who doesn’t love a good sleep!
Which animal most reflects your personality?
Many would say a turtle; pretty calm, considered and not easily wound up.
What's your favourite film & why?
I do love Avatar, I am a nature and animal lover and love the way they live in harmony with the planet they are on. I think we forget that as humans sometimes.
What celeb would you most like to work with & why?
I would love to work with Davina McCall, she is pro-healthy lifestyle and would be a great advocate of the brand.
What would your death row meal be?
Either a homemade lasagne with vegetable sheets or a nice Grass Fed steak - all topped off with our Garlic Avocado Mayo of course!

Together with Co-Founder Jeff, Amy was listed in the category of Retail & Ecommerce in recognition of making waves in the food industry, promoting healthy lifestyles with food products which are free from refined sugars, grains and seed oils.
