If you're after a natural source of energy to power your brain and performance, you've found it. MCT stands for Medium Chain Triglycerides, and these clever fatty acids work differently from the fats in other standard oils. While regular fats take their time travelling through the digestive system, MCTs head straight to your liver where they're turned into instant fuel. Our MCT oil comes exclusively from organic coconuts (never palm oil) and is carefully extracted through triple steam distillation. Whether you're following a low-carb lifestyle or need sharper focus and sustained energy, MCT oil delivers.
What makes MCT oil special? It's the medium chain triglycerides: caprylic acid (C8) and capric acid (C10). These fats skip normal digestion and convert directly into ketones in your liver. That means instant fuel for your brain and body.
For those on a keto diet, MCT oil helps maintain ketosis naturally. But you don't need to be keto to benefit. This pure MCT oil provides mental clarity and lasting energy without sugar crashes or coffee jitters. It's premium brain fuel, plain and simple.
We believe quality matters. That’s why our MCT oil goes through triple steam distillation using only 100% organic coconuts. We never use palm oil. This process isolates the powerful C8 and C10 fats while creating a completely tasteless and odourless oil.
Stir it into your morning coffee (hello bulletproof coffee!), blend into smoothies, or drizzle over salads.
MCT stands for ‘Medium-Chain Triglyceride’ a type of fat found naturally in foods such as coconuts, palm oil and some dairy products.
Medium Chain Triglycerides (or MCTs to you and me) are a sub-class of saturated fats, which have a different chemical structure to other saturated fats and so behave differently in the body.
They are harder to come by in foods than Long Chain Triglycerides (LCT) and are also metabolised differently.
In short, not all fats (nor saturated fats) are created equal; and in the case of MCTs, they have been shown to be pretty special!
Check out our blog post, "What All Fats Aren't Created Equal," which explains the different kinds of dietary fat and why the specific type of fat matters.
Generally, MCT Oil is a clear oil that is runny and liquid at room temperature (unlike coconut oil). It should be unflavoured and have a neutral smell.
We offer two options of MCT oil, the Pure C8 (Thrive Fuel®) and a C8 C10 option.
The pure C8 is a more potent MCT oil & great for those looking to increase their ketone production, or for those that are transitioning from the C8 & C10 blend.
The C8 & C10 blend is the perfect entry MCT oil.
MCT oil is brain fuel. One study suggested that MCT oil could supply the brain with up to 8-9% more energy. This can contribute to increased focus and mental clarity. It has also been shown to improve cognitive function in hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) conditions.
Additional research has found that the use of MCTs can even help improve memory problems, including among those with Alzheimer’s disease. A 2018 study found that the use of MCTs while following the ketogenic diet helped patients with Alzheimer’s experience improvements in symptoms.
MCT Oil is in our opinion the purest source of medium chain fats. Our Hunter & Gather MCT Oil i s triple steam distilled for purity and is 100% from coconuts, no palm oil or rapeseed oils are used in the process and there are no bulkers, fillers, or flow agents! Liquid MCT Oil has an oily texture and can be poured into coffee, smoothies, salads, or shakes. Take a look at some recipe ideas here. To create a powdered form of MCT Oil, MCT Oil is spray dried onto a carrier - such as maltodextrin, tapioca flour, corn, or soy lecithin. It is important to understand what carrier is used as this could impact the carbohydrate levels and purity of the product. 👎 These carriers themselves are rarely disclosed on the ingredients list - so be sure to ask if you are unsure.
