As Hunter & Gather continues to evolve as an evidence-backed functional wellness brand, we are proud to formally introduce Pauline Cox (MSc) as our Director of Functional Nutrition.
“This partnership marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hunter & Gather. Pauline’s expertise strengthens our commitment to evidence-backed product development, while helping us translate complex nutritional science into clear, practical guidance that supports our customers’ real-world health needs, particularly in women’s health”, says Jeff, co-founder of Hunter & Gather.
Behind the scenes, this brings a new layer of scientific depth to our formulations and content and a clearer bridge between cutting-edge functional nutrition and everyday application.
Table of Content
Pauline has been a customer, advocate and friend of the brand for many years.
Drawn to our commitment to real food, ingredient integrity and ancestral principles, she discovered the brand organically. Over time, a shared philosophy around functional nutrition and health created a natural connection grounded in mutual respect and aligned values.
“I first came across Hunter & Gather as a customer,” Pauline shares. “I ordered immediately and was hooked — not just on the product, but on the brand and the mission behind it.”
Her support wasn’t simply professional; it was personal. In fact, Hunter & Gather tomato ketchup made its way onto the tables at her wedding, a small but telling detail that speaks to genuine belief in the products she recommends.
What followed was an ongoing relationship built on conversation, trust and a shared commitment to raising the standard of functional nutrition.
“From our very first conversations, it was clear that we shared a similar vision,” says Jeff. “Pauline’s approach to functional nutrition is deeply evidence-led but also practical and compassionate, which mirrors exactly how we believe health information should be delivered.”
Formalising this partnership reflects a natural progression, bringing long-standing alignment into a clearly defined role that will help shape the next chapter of Hunter & Gather.
Pauline is a Functional Nutritionist, columnist, professional speaker, bestselling author and guest lecturer at the National Centre for Integrative Medicine. She holds:
A BSc in Anatomical Science (University of Bristol)
A degree in Physiotherapy (University of the West of England)
A Masters in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health (University of Bristol)
Masters-level training in Integrative Medicine at the National Centre for Integrative Medicine
She has co-founded a multidisciplinary health clinic, written two books ‘Primal Living in a Modern World’ and ‘Hungry Woman’ (one of our team’s favourites) and lectures medical students on women’s health.
Functional Nutrition, as Pauline explains, is:
“An approach to health and wellbeing that looks at the body as a whole, examining what systems are under stress, understanding why the body is out of balance and getting to the root cause or causes. Rather than a symptomatic approach, it is a holistic approach.”
She continues:
“This approach empowers people with the tools they need to take control of their own health and longevity. It is not prescriptive, but rather shines a light on why our body might not be functioning optimally.”
As we deepen our focus on supporting women’s health and long-term wellbeing, Pauline’s expertise is a natural fit for where the brand and business are heading.
As Director of Functional Nutrition, Pauline will work closely with our product, brand and content teams.
“In her role, Pauline will work closely with our product, brand and content teams to continue to ensure functional nutrition, scientific rigour and clear education are embedded throughout the business.”
From Pauline’s perspective:
“As the Director of Functional Nutrition at Hunter & Gather, I’ll be working alongside the teams to bridge the gap between scientific health advice and real-world application. I’ll also be supporting them in continuing their work on science-led product development, and in helping translate complex science into clear, practical and easy-to-access guidance that genuinely empowers individuals on how best to support their own health choices.”
This means deeper product insight, clearer education and stronger scientific foundations across everything we create.

Women’s health has become a central pillar of our direction, and it is also where Pauline’s work has long been focused.
“My focus in Women’s Health is to guide women, at all stages of their lives, to understand how to work with their female physiology.”
She is passionate about helping women support the foundations of health and longevity, from blood sugar balance and metabolic health to daily habits, nervous system regulation and restorative sleep.
“It is my hope that anyone who engages with the work that I do, leaves feeling inspired about their own health, excited to learn more about the miraculous body that they have and curious to dive deeper into a journey of discovering just how amazing their body is.”
At a time when health advice can feel overwhelming, conflicting or trend-driven, Pauline agrees that we face a clear challenge:
“Some of the biggest challenges people face today, with regards to their health, is finding easy, accessible and simple ways to eat well and feel well.”
The partnership with Hunter & Gather is grounded in addressing that challenge.
“I am proud to be a part of what Hunter & Gather stands for. They aren’t chasing trends, they are advocates for nutrient-dense, honest ingredients, helping people to reconnect with nutrition that supports human health at its most fundamental level.”
She adds:
“I am delighted to be part of a brand that stands for the same principles as I do, seeing functional wellness and natural nutrition as a movement, not a health fad.”
This appointment signals where Hunter & Gather is heading — towards deeper expertise, stronger scientific rigour and long-term credibility.
“I’m delighted to support Hunter & Gather as they continue to grow as a trusted, credible source in the health space where people are hungry for accessible, scientifically robust information.”
From launch communications through to our future evolution, Pauline’s expertise will help embed functional nutrition and education at the core of everything we do. We’re proud to welcome her into this formal role and are excited to share more of her insights with you in the months ahead.
