What is your mayonnaise made with?
Our mayonnaise is made with cold-pressed avocado oil or Spanish olive oil, British free-range egg yolk from Red Lion certified farms, apple cider vinegar and pink Himalayan salt. The vinegar and salt do the preserving, so there are no synthetic preservatives or thickeners.
Which mayonnaise should I choose?
Choose Avocado Oil Mayonnaise if you want the milder everyday jar, or Olive Oil Mayonnaise for more savoury depth. Garlic suits burgers and potatoes, Lemon suits fish and salads, and Hot Honey suits anything crisp or barbecued. All five work as a dip, spread, dressing or sauce.
Does Hunter & Gather mayonnaise contain seed oils?
No. None of our mayonnaise contains seed oils. Every jar is made with either cold-pressed avocado oil or Spanish olive oil, with no rapeseed, sunflower or other seed oils blended in. The result is a short ingredient list built around the oil we actually want you to taste.
How should I store mayonnaise?
Keep the jar in the cupboard until opened, then store it high up in the fridge door rather than at the back. Below around 4°C it can begin to solidify, which is why the coldest part of the fridge is worth avoiding. Follow the guidance on the jar.
Is your mayonnaise suitable for babies?
Our Hot Honey Olive Oil Mayonnaise contains raw British honey and is not suitable for babies under one year old. For our other mayonnaises, all contain raw egg yolk, so please follow current NHS guidance on eggs for infants and speak with your health visitor.
