The challenger brand re-writing the rule book for real food (Hunter & Gather) - has been named ‘Best of British’ winner at the much coveted Ocado Rising Stars Awards.
Hunter & Gather, whose honest range of ‘clean’ condiments, cooking oils and supplements free-from refined sugars, grains and poor quality fats are proving a hit at Ocado, beat off strong competition from some of Britain’s best independent food and drink brands to pull in the people’s vote and be named winner.
Note from Co-Founder:
Hunter & Gather Co-founder, Amy Moring, says: “As the underdog of the category, to go out and win against some amazing British brands is a huge achievement.
“When we launched in 2017, we wanted to create a business that challenges and champions real food for all. As a lifelong coeliac, I knew first-hand the dangers of cheap convenience foods laden with grains and its debilitating impact on long-term health and happiness. Jeff also felt the effects of a poor conventional western diet, suffering from eczema, asthma, and severe acne, but managed to turn this around by cutting out processed foods, refined sugars, grains and inflammatory seed oils, which fostered an innate passion and pursuit for optimal health.
“Today, Hunter & Gather gives people the tools they need to thrive through healthier food choices, education, and recipes. Being named ‘Best of British’ by Ocado is a huge step forward for real food and shows the amazing support we’ve received from the public who are taking back control of their health and joining us in championing clean, real and healthy foods.”
Hunter & Gather’s range of 100% Cold Pressed Avocado Cooking Oils and Mayonnaises, received rave reviews at Ocado, with customers calling the products ‘delicious’ and ‘amazingly good.’ Hunter & Gather 100% Coconut MCT Oil and 100% Pure Bovine Collagen Peptides are also selling fast.
