We've got some cracking news to share with you!

After a right ol’ journey, our 175g Avocado Oil Mayonnaise range is finally hitting the shelves of up to 266 Tesco stores across the UK.

Now, you might be thinking, "How hard can it be to get a product into a supermarket?" Well, let us tell you, it's been quite the adventure! We've been grafting away for over four years, determined to make our healthy, seed oil-free mayonnaise accessible to everyone.

One of the main challenges is that supermarkets do not have ever expanding shelves, so they may review their product offering only once a year in some cases, so timing is everything. 

It all started back in 2019 when our Co-Founder, Amy, reached out to the first Tesco buyer on LinkedIn. The buyer loved our samples, but timing wasn't on our side. We missed the range review window for 2020/2021, but we didn't let that stop us!

Fast forward to 2021, and we were introduced to a new buyer. We sent a "truck" branded with Hunter & Gather to hand-deliver samples of our newest sauces!

Our team was so committed to getting Tesco's attention that our Co-Founder, Jeff, even made an Instagram video dressed as a caveman! You can find that here. 

Despite all our efforts, the range review was delayed (this can happen), and we were asked to come back in 2022. Undeterred, we kept at it, sending samples, attending meetings, and pitching our hearts out to a new buyer again (buyer number 3 now).

In July 2023, we were chosen to pitch at an industry event, where Amy had a "speed" pitch round with another buyer heading up the new Tesco Accelerator Programme. This opened up a new opportunity for us, and after countless emails and meetings, we were finally announced as part of the Accelerator Programme for 2024!

So, here we are, four years, four buyers, and over 100 emails later, ready to bring our delicious, healthy mayonnaise to Tesco's shelves and into your homes.

Hunter & Gather Classic Avocado Oil Mayonnaise 175g will be available in 266 Tesco stores Nationwide and the Chipotle and Garlic 175g variants will be available in 94 stores.
