What capsules do you use, gelatin or hypromellose?
At Hunter & Gather our aim is to create Optimal Health products that are free from sugars, grains and inflammatory oils. We also however want to ensure that all of our products are as natural as possible. In researching the difference between hypromellose and gelatin capsules, we made the decision to only use gelatin capsules for all of nutritional support vitamin tablets.
Hypermellose is short for Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose
and is chemically made normally as a vegetarian replacement for gelatin capsules. Gelatin capsules are made from animal sources such as bovine and are keto, paleo and carnivore friendly with minimal processing.
What is in your organ (liver, heart and blend) capsules?
Our Nutritional Vitamin & mineral support capsule pills are made with real food ingredients only.
The pure liver is made from freeze dried liver from wild roaming, 100% grass fed Icelandic lamb - encapsulated in a gelatin tablet.
Our pure heart support is made with freeze dried lambs heart from wild roaming 100% grass fed Icelandic lamb - encapsulated in a gelatin tablet.
Our blend of heart and liver (with wild handpicked herbs) contains both the raw freeze dried Icelandic lamb liver and heart but with added wild grown Organic Garlic and Rhodiola Rosea.
Are the lambs grass fed or GMO fed?
The lambs that we use are from Iceland and are wild roaming and 100% grass fed. They are never fed any supplementary grain or soy based feed. Iceland has strict rules and regulations in relation to GMO feed and the lambs are therefore never fed genetically modified (GMO) feed.
Are the lambs antibiotic or hormone free?
The lambs are wild roaming in the Icelandic mountains and are guaranteed free from any antibiotics or hormones.
How do I take the Hunter & Gather organ vitamin tablets?
We recommend taking 2-4 capsules per day, either before or after a meal. We advise to take the capsules with water or another drink of choice.

Yes, you can take Hunter & Gather nutritional support vitamin pills alongside both our collagen peptide protein powder and our 100% coconut MCT oil. We personally have a morning Bulletproof (Evolve) coffee with MCT oil & collagen powder - so we take 2 capsules alongside our coffee everyday.

What is Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)?
Coenzyme Q10 or otherwise known as CoQ10 naturally occurs in the heart organ meat. Heart is the richest source of CoQ10 and it is believed to support blood pressure, heart health and mitochondria in your cells.
Is the Hunter & Gather organ supplements de-fatted?
No, we do not defat the organ meats that we use in our supplements. We love great sources of fat and the fat within the freeze dried organs enables you to utilise fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamin A more easily. Making our organ supplements a highly bioavailable source of vitamins and minerals.
What should I look for when buying organ meats?
Organ meats are nutritionally abundant and are packed with vitamins such as B12, Vitamin A, and essential minerals like Iron and copper. But, not all organ meats will be of the same quality and there are some key things to consider when shopping for organ meats - especially organ meat supplements, pills or tablets.
- Are the animals that the organs have come from 100% grass fed? Ensure that you buy organ meat from wild roaming grass fed animals. This will ensure that the animals have not been fed GMO crops or grains. Do not just rely on the term "grass fed" it must be 100% grass fed or pasture for life certified to ensure no other feeds are utilised.
- Are the animals free from antibiotics and hormones? Ensure that the supplier can confirm that the animals where free from antibiotics or hormones.
- If buying supplements - are they non-deffatted? Make sure that the supplements are non-deffated to ensure optimal absorption of fat soluble vitamins.
- Is the organ meats in the capsules/pills freeze dried? Freeze Drying locks in the benefits of the organ meats and ensures that heat sensitive biological activity remains.
What is the like for like tradition to support heart & liver health?
Our tribal ancestors where clever fellows when it came to nutrition. They had this theory that if you eat the organs of a healthy animals that it provided support for your own organ health. I.e eating liver to support your liver and heart to support your heart.
With the help of modern day science we can see that they were actually on to something. With heart organ meat providing a whopping dose of CoQ10 (which supports blood pressure and heart health) and liver organ meat providing Vitamins A, Vitamin B12 and iron, which all contribute to a healthy human liver - eating like for like can really be beneficial.
