We believe that the vast majority of people can benefit from a gluten-free lifestyle or as we call it, a ’Real Food Lifestyle’.
Gluten is a very common allergen with extreme issues caused for those with Coeliac disease and Gluten sensitivity like our Co-Founder Amy (The Coeliac Girl). We therefore ensure that all of our products are suitable for those with Wheat and Gluten Intolerances as well as Coeliacs.
The farmers that we use for our Extra Virgin Avocado Oil follow Organic principles such as:
No pesticide use
No artificial fertilisers (they use cow manure)
No added chemicals
We have had the oil laboratory tested for any traces of pesticides, for which there was none.
Avocados are also number 1 for foods on the clean 15 list for lack of pesticide contamination. Therefore we do not feel it is necessary to state “Organic” on out bottles as this is an additional cost to the farmers to gain “Organic” status when by default they are pesticide free.
You will be super please to hear that you are able to have both the Classic Avocado Oil Mayonnaise as it is made with simply 4 ingredients and our Chipotle Chilli and Lime. We do not use any garlic or onion in these recipes and the other simple ingredients are also suitable for a FODMAP Lifestly.
Sadly, the garlic mayo is out but honestly with the other two to tuck into, I am sure you will be pleased :)

We love the world and really care about the impact we have as a business on both the planet and it's people.
We not only want you to be the best version of yourself but as a business we also want to tread as lightly as possible on the environment.
How do we do this:
We only use glass jars and bottles with paper labels – we hate plastic! We pack all of our customer orders in cardboard boxes and packing paper and avoid bubble wrap as much as possible. We are nearly there but we are aiming to be 100% plastic free by 2020.
We purchase oil made from avocados that would be wasted from export trade. They may be too small, too large, weird shaped or have slight sunburn (all which does not affect the oil from the flesh). We love that we can use something that would go to waste.
Our oil is pressed in country, so that as little room as possible is required for transport. We then bottle the oil in the UK and this helps reduce carbon emissions rather than transporting glass bottles all the way from our Avocado growers.
Our Extra Virgin Avocado Oil Supplier, who we work closely with, employ local people in Kenya and buy from small scale farmers. An Agronomist is hired specifically to provide free education to these farmers to help them care for their trees for future generations. They are shown how to use Organic principles such as fertiliser from the families cow and how to avoid mono-crops, by planting Bananas, coffee and avocados together.
Join us on our mission of being the best version of yourself, for the Planet and it's People.
This is a great question – our farmers are amazingly important to us.
Our Extra Virgin Avocado Oil is made from hand picked and hand sorted Kenyan Hass avocados that are grown by local farmers in Kenya. Our Kenyan supplier ensures that the local farmers are well looked after.
The Experimenter Boy and the Coeliac girl went to visit the farmers in February 2018 and are very to happy to report back:
We pay a fair price for the avocados and ensure the welfare of the farmers is top notch
Our supplier uses small local farmers (with as little as 5-10 avocado trees) as well as a handful of larger farms
The avocados are predominantly grown for export to supermarket; however supermarkets will only purchase fruit that meets certain criteria (size, shape and colour for example). Previously fruit that did not fit this criteria would be wasted and many farmers relied solely on the export trade. We purchase fruit that would have been wasted (even though there is nothing wrong with the flesh) which we use to make oil. This gives the farmers extra income and avoids food waste; it also ensures that the farmers are not 100% reliant on export
Our kenyan supplier hires agronomists (that’s someone that knows a lot about farming and plants) whose job is to solely look after the farmers and visits them regularly. They provide training to ensure that the farmers can look after their trees for the future and ensure sustainability
Saplings are supplied to the farmers free of charge, so that they can grow trees for future generations
Values are really important to us and we make all of our business decisions around these core principles.
The main one you may have seen is:
No Sugar, No Grains and No Harmful Fats - you can trust us to provide you with products that are grain free, do not contain any refined sugars or artificial sweeteners and as low in sugar as possible. You also won't find any harmful fats here either - see ya poor quality seed and vegetable oils.
Our other guiding values:
You can read all about Jeff and Amy (Co Founders) on the About Us Page - which also has a break down of our story and values.
But in summary our guiding values are:
We believe in eating and producing real food that is natural, free from sugars, grains and harmful fats.
We are committed to ensuring that every product and ingredient is of the highest quality possible. Each product has to pass the Experimenter Boys rigorous testing and the Coeliac Girls tasting!
Transparency is key, so that you can trust in us to provide you with products of the highest integrity.
Caring for the Environment & People
We want to do business for good and this includes the environment and the people that live in it. We limit our use of plastics, use glass containers, pay a fair price for our ingredients and our suppliers invest in education for farmers and their families.
